place to visit

my favorite

Since early childhood, I always had numerous health issues. Some of them, where mysterious illnesses doctors just could not figure out.
I was 19. My grandmother looked at me and said: “Health is the most valuable asset you have, because when you are sick – no amount of money will bring it back”. Soon after she died.
She had diabetes for more than 20 years. It has been too long that I watched her fight that silent war against disease. No one could offer much insight or help. She was left to face the end all on her own while being “consumed” by illness. I still have problems coming to terms with it.
Since she died, I went on a quest to sort out my own health. I was eager to know where those health issues came from and most importantly - why.
My grandmother raised a strong awareness in me that day, feeling sick should not be the norm.
I started my search by meeting numerous doctors, health practitioners, dieticians, nutritionists - but they could not give me comprehensive answers to my questions. It was not working. At the same time, I was trying to find solutions by myself in this vast ocean of contradictory information. It was extremely confusing. The more I searched, the more I got confused.
It was then, that I decided to take control of the situation once and for all, and that meant going back to studying. I started with Nutrition. But that was not enough. I went on to do Medical Anatomy and then Specialised in treating and restoring “the Gut”. Bingo! I found what I was looking for.
I started treating myself. That came with the realisation that feeling sick, uncomfortable or dealing with different symptoms does not have to be the norm. One can live a life enjoying a liberating feeling of health, not having all that. That is what my grandmother was trying to tell me, and now I understood what she meant.
I found that there is a lot of valuable information available out there which we can use to heal ourselves. Actually, our bodies have enormous potential for self-healing and self-restoration.
At about the same time, my mother was refused an operation and told to start saying “goodbye” to her relatives. Just like her mother, she was a diabetic for more than 20 years. The problem was that the tumour with an eczema covering it, needed to be removed. For diabetics, wounds do not close easily, and they can lose a lot of blood. With an eczema present, the person can bleed to death on the operation table.
We took things into our own hands. With a drastic change in diet and a few supplements, things started shifting. Eight months later the tumour reduced by 1/3 and the eczema disappeared. She had that operation and now she is happily carrying on with her daily life.
I was helping people for some time now and seeing how little change can bring immediate results is very rewarding, but nothing had such an impact as my mother’s recovery. I was overwhelmed to learn that even when it feels like there is no hope-there is!
From that day on I knew it was my purpose to let people know that nothing was ever hopeless. Knowledge is power – that was the credo of my family for centuries, and now I believe in it, more than ever. I want to give people knowledge and the necessary tools, so that they can take ownership of their health and transform their lives.
